LIEGENAAR is an experimental music and performance duo from Antwerp, Belgium. Their practice takes various forms, reaching from noise sets and sound installations to food art.

With an ever-changing set-up they try to adapt to any given situation. Unpredictability plays a pivotal role throughout their work resulting in both intimate and hostile situations. They are interested in using a variety of techniques and sound sources like field recordings, diy electronics, feedback and tape manipulation and the human body. This results in a mixture of murky vocalizations layered upon dissonant drones glued together with handmade and manipulated equipment carefully beaten to pulp.

Liegenaar is a (childish) corruption of the word liar. It is an accusation that is rendered harmless by the naivety that creeps into it.
